As a result, Runway 3 was built to a length of 4,000 meters to accommodate such large aircraft. This length also took into
account the potential need for longer runways due to reduced air pressure caused by global warming. Runway 3 was built
from September 2005 to December 2007. After four months of commissioning, the runway was officially completed in April
2008. By securing a new independent runway, Incheon Airport enhanced the operational stability of its takeoffs and landings
facilities.
