          Preparing for future of aviation:

          preparing site for MRO Complex

In line with the government’s strategy to nurture the aviation maintenance

industry, Phase 4 created the MRO site. MRO stands for maintenance, repair,
and overhaul, which is necessary to maintain the stability and reliability of
aircraft. IIAC prepared for MRO to improve its competitiveness and established
the Comprehensive Development Plan for the MRO Complex in 2019. Phase 4

included the first phase of building the MRO cluster. This involved preparing
a 620,000-square-meter site and building aprons, hangars, and other necessary
          facilities.
To attract advanced aircraft maintenance companies from across the globe,

IIAC focused on creating a provider-friendly cluster by optimizing maintenance
efficiency and enhancing working conditions. To this end, it created a 360-degree
ground run-up enclosure and sound-proofing walls and maximized the
maintenance areas by separating common and dedicated parking ramps. To resolve

navigation interference, the design included an improvement plan for bypassing
roads. In cooperation with the private providers, it increased the maintenance
capacity from 2 to 4 Code F aircraft. It also strengthened transportation
connectivity by linking it with nearby roads and created a user-friendly facility

by improving the safety of ground run-up enclosure. With a portable system form
construction method, it reduced the construction duration from twelve to nine
          months, saving costs as well.
