Digital The Phase 4 expansion of Terminal 2 brought not only an expansion of airport infrastructure but
transformation in also a major shift in the airport operating paradigm. Leveraging Fourth Industrial Revolution
technologies, a comprehensive digital transformation provided passengers with a new experience
airport services: in the arrival and departure process. Biometric authentication-based arrival and departure
smart airport procedures were introduced, along with the expanded "Home Drop" service, allowing passengers
to send their luggage from home to the airport and travel baggage-free. The "Easy Drop" service
was also introduced, enabling passengers to check in luggage at designated locations.
Autonomous Mobility, AM were deployed to assist passengers with mobility needs, and self-
check-in and self-bag-drop stations were installed. Additionally, voice recognition and accessible
check-in services, such as "Smart Self-Service," were implemented, and smart signage based on
AI and voice recognition was installed to support passengers less familiar with digital devices.
Functional CCTV with AI and facial recognition was also added to help efficiently locate lost
passengers or travelers.
This smart transformation has streamlined services, enabling 95% of passengers to complete
arrival or departure processes within an average of 40 minutes—comfortably meeting the ICAO’s
recommended target times of 60 minutes for departures and 45 minutes for arrivals.
