built on top of the existing 64 km.
A greywater facility processes wastewater for
recycling. With the expansion of Terminal
2, a water tank was installed underground to
process wastewater and supply greywater.
Pumps were added to increase capacity (20,000
cubic meters/day).
A 154kV main substation was built. With the
existing two substations A and B, it is now
equipped with a triple power supply system.
As it provides a triple grid, it improves the
capacity of Incheon Airport, a core part of
national infrastructure.
To improve passenger convenience, a
125-meter long-distance moving walkway was
installed in Terminal 2’s hallways, allowing
quick and easy movement. Elevators are transparent, enhancing the sense of space and providing
scenic views for a more pleasant experience.
Phase 4 added approximately 10,000 new trees, bringing the total number of trees at Incheon
Airport to 130,000. Unused spaces along the T1-T2 connecting road, as well as along the T2
access road, were optimized. A carbon-reducing eco-forest was created, incorporating Korea’s
traditional patchwork pattern for a visually striking landscape from both vehicles and aircraft.
Additionally, rock landscaping around the cargo terminal interchange was designed to resemble
the islands of the West Sea and was illuminated to create a distinctive nighttime view.
