Shorter runway occupancy time

                                                Runway 4 is equipped with perpendicular taxiways, high-speed exit taxiways, and navigational
                                                aids (such as airfield lighting and instrument landing systems). Taxiways guide aircraft between the
                                                runway and terminals for boarding, cargo loading, or takeoff. Runway 4 has four additional high-
                                                speed exit taxiways, bringing the total to eight, compared to Runways 1–3. These high-speed exit

                                                taxiways allow aircraft to exit the runway quickly after landing, clearing the way for incoming
                                                flights. Unlike standard perpendicular taxiways, high-speed exits are acute-angled, enabling aircraft
                                                to leave the runway without sharply reducing speed. This design minimizes runway occupancy time
                                                (ROT) for landing aircraft, reducing delays and maximizing facility efficiency.

                                                With the addition of Runway 4, Incheon Airport increased its hourly operations from 90 to 107
                                                flights, and ROT decreased from 73 seconds to 56 seconds.
