Incheon Airport has applied strict security criteria since its launch. Incheon
Airport increased efficiency and accuracy by applying more advanced technology
for Phase 4. The biggest difference is the application of AI for smart security

checks. The airport introduced intelligent CCTV to swiftly respond to terror risks
and find missing children or people. Alarms are sent to security personnel in case
of incidents. By analyzing CCTV with deep learning technology, it is possible
to search the video with search words including object size, attire, color, and

direction. It also introduced CT scans for passenger carry-on luggage. As the
equipment performs a 360-degree scan, it drastically increases the detection rate of
dangerous goods while reducing the search time with less open inspections. IIAC
also introduced smart passes, smart check-ins, and smart security. As a result, the

average time for arrival/departure at Terminal 2 for 95% of passengers is less than
40 minutes.
IIAC also transformed the command-and-control system for security facilities. It
integrated the command-and-control system and installed an advanced security

guard system. In the past, Phases 1, 2 facilities and Phase 3 facilities were
operated based on different systems, but Phase 4 integrated the command-and-
control system for a more stable security system.
